Scope and Content Note
The York County Photograph Collections of photographs and negatives from 1940-1953 primarily from York County. Several of the 91 photographs are stamped Joe Azer who was a local photographer. The collection consists of many images of Winthrop College events, scenes, people, and buildings and includes May Day events, WTS football team, the Blue Line with Pix Theater, Winthrop bands, and many other images of campus and student life. Also included are Rock Hill scenes including parades going down Main Street in downtown Rock Hill. There are also 55 negatives mostly of pageants and festivals in the area including in Chester, SC, Clover, SC, Pageland, SC, and Lowrys, SC.

The York County Photographs were deposited with the Archives on September 12,1986 by Anita Starnes.
