Historical Note
The Rock Hill Music Club was founded March 20, 1914, by Mrs. A. E. Smith and a group of ladies. The Club has provided music awards and scholarships and free community concerts since.
Scope and Content Note
The Rock Hill Music Club Records consists of correspondence, yearbooks, and programs of the meetings, convention programs, numerous awards, newspaper articles, sheet music, presidents’ reports, handbooks, constitutions, photographs, and scrapbooks pertaining to the Rock Hill, SC club.
Provenance
The records of the Rock Hill Music Club were received from Mr. William Boyce White on April 8, 1991. An addition of 21 pieces was deposited by Betty Rawls on April 23, 1997. An addition was deposited by Marjorie Hood on February 13, 2001 and July 12, 2001. Three scrapbooks were deposited by Betty Rawls on June 17, 2013.
