Description
This paper looks at Anthony Bourdain's production on screen as a cosmopolitan host and as a particular gastro-geographical narrative. With three different episodes of Parts Unknown (CNN), I investigate how Bourdain allows us to question gender roles, development discourse, and the American image through the traces of food, while at the same time being limited in his role as the cosmopolitan.
