Presenter Bio
Sherika Montgomery, associate athletic director for student success, has been a member of the Winthrop family since March 2017. She was named to the Top 25 Women in Higher Education and Beyond by Diverse Education while serving on the NCAA Board of Governors Ad Hoc Committee to provide Cultural Diversity and Equity. Sherika was recently appointed chair of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics and serves on the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women and NCAA Woman of Color Subcommittees.
Away from the office, she serves on the Board of Directors for Project Life Movement, a national movement to increase the pool of bone marrow and tissue donors by testing and registering college students with a simple cheek swab. With her leadership, students from all 10 Big South conference schools have become registered bone marrow and tissue donors. In 2016, Presbyterian College's baseball player, Aaron Lesiak helped save a life with his donation.
Sherika is a former student-athlete and two-time Gardner-Webb University graduate. She earned her Master's Degree in Sports Science and Pedagogy in May 2011 and Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from the institution in 2009.
