Presenter Bio
Karen Kedrowski is Professor of Political Science and Executive Director for the Center for Civic Learning at Winthrop University. A specialist in American Politics and Policy, her research areas focus primary on gender and politics. She has coauthored two books in the field, Breastfeeding Rights in the United States and Cancer Activism. In addition, she teaches Women and Politics in the United States and leads the NEW Leadership Institute each summer. The goal of this institute is to encourage college women in South Carolina to consider careers in public service. In both her teaching and through NEW Leadership, Dr. Kedrowski teaches about gender dynamics in the contemporary American workplace.
