Historical Note

Esther Surasky Persky (Winthrop Class of 1918) helped found the Hadassah chapter in Aiken, SC. Hadassah is an American Jewish volunteer women's organization.

Scope and Content Note

The Esther Persky Papers consist of newspaper clippings, correspondence and reminiscences of Mrs. Esther Surasky Persky (Winthrop Class of 1918) concerning her role in the founding of the Aiken Chapter of Hadassah in 1938 and the work of the chapter. Hadassah is an American Jewish volunteer women's organization. The reminiscence also contains a brief remembrance of her time at Winthrop.
