The collection consists of sixty newspaper articles dealing with seven subjects: historical landmarks in South Carolina, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, Reconstruction, President Andrew Jackson’s birthplace, and miscellaneous. (The miscellaneous category contains single articles dealing with important issues of their day such as unions, women’s suffrage, and education.) The articles were published between 1910 and 1938, though the majority of them were not dated. Most of the articles were published in The Union Times.
