Historical Note
John "Jean" Gaston was born ca. 1600 in France. A Huguenot and refugee, he settled in Scotland where he married and died. Three of his sons moved to Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland in the 1660s.
Scope and Content Note
American Descendants of John "Jean" Gaston by Max Perry chronicles the Gaston family from the 1660s to the 1990s. Much of the family settled in the Fishing Creek area of Chester County, S.C. by the late 1760s. Succeeding generations spread throughout the United States. The family names included are many. Please see the attached Table of Contents and Index.
