The McMaster family settled in Fairfield County, South Carolina by 1787.
Scope and Content Note
The Family History of Hugh Buchanan McMaster (1820-1973) and Elizabeth Boatwright Fleming McMaster (1825-1897): Their Forebears and Their Descendants compiled by Nelle McMaster Sprott and Mary Rice McMaster relates the family's history from the 1700s to ca. 1992. In addition to genealogical information, the book also contains, photographs, transcriptions of family documents, a coat of arms, and family stories. Please see attached Table of Contents.
