Scope and Content Note

The McFadden Family Chronology consists of a history in a chronology format that traces the family lineage from its arrival in the U.S. from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in 1710 to 1900. The early members of the family resided in Chester District or Chester County, South Carolina. A few of the allied families include Anderson, Barham, Brown, Crawford, Cooper, Culp, Daily, Ferguson, Gates, Gill, Jones, Latta, Lewis, McCullough, McKinney, McKnight, O’Neil, Patton, Skinner, Smith, Steal, Taylor, Walker, and Williams.

The McFadden Family Papers were given as a gift to the Archives on May 26, 1983 by William Thomas Skinner.
