Historical Note
John Thomas Falls, Sr. (1926-2005), a native of York County, S.C., was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. He later graduated from Mars Hill College in 1950 and then worked 37 years as a mail carrier for United States Postal Service. A history of the Antioch Baptist Church (Blacksburg, S.C.), a copy of The Heritage of Cleveland County [N.C.], vol. 1 (1982), three copies of the Pisgah A.R.P Church’s cemetery indexes, a history of the Mount Paran Baptist Church (Blacksburg S.C.), a copy of Our Heritage: A History of Cleveland County [N.C.] (1976), Brent Holcomb’s 1980 Marriage and Death Notices from the Charleston Observer, 1827-1845, and a bounded work on Tryon and Lincoln counties (N.C.) can be found in this collection.
