Historical Note
The South Carolina International Women's Year Conference was held on June 10 and 11, 1977 to formulate "grass-roots opinions for the National Conference" that was held November 18-21 in Houston, Texas and so "the South Carolina woman [could] gain knowledge of her heritage and hope for her horizons."
Scope and Content Note
The South Carolina International Women's Year Conference Records consist of news releases, membership lists, directives, bibliographies, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, and other records, concerning the SC International Women’s Year Conference held June 10-11, 1977 in Columbia, SC which met to discuss women’s issues.
Provenance
The South Carolina International Women's Year Conference Records were donated to the Archives by Louise Pettus, who attended the conference, on June 13, 1977.
