This collection consists of microfilm copies of the original York County Sheriffs Fee Book (1854-1855) and York County Sheriff Receipt Books (1863-1866) purchased from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History. The South Carolina Department of Archives and History describe the series as, “records receipts for executions, judgments, costs and the like. Information includes the receipt date; amount; purpose; and the names of the sheriff, deputies, and person giving receipt.”
Provenance
The York County Sheriff's Fee Book 1854-1855 Sheriff's Receipt Book 1863-1866 was purchased by the Archives on March 13 1995.
