The collection consists of Memoir of the Life, Character, and Public Services, of the Late Hon. Henry Wm. De Saussure, Prepared and Read on the 15th February, 1841, at the Circular Church, Charleston, by Appointment of the South Carolina Bar Association by The Hon. William Harper published at the Request of the South Carolina Bar Association in Charleston, SC in 1841. This publication consists of a memoir of the life of Henry William De Saussure [1763-1839], who was an American lawyer, state legislator and jurist from South Carolina, written by William Harper [1790-1847] which was read on February 15, 1841 at the Circular Church in Charleston, SC. In addition to the biographical information, the memoir includes some information concerning the genealogy of the de Saussure family.
