Winthrop Close Up is a weekly news cast produced by the Advanced Journalism and Advanced Broadcast Production classes at Winthrop University. This week’s Defend Winthrop Episode deals with the issues around campus that have the students thinking. These issues are that Winthrop is the Top school in SC for teaching and why students come here for an Education Degree, why Winthrop is not at fault for the parking problems around campus, ways to defend Campus Police, whether Winthrop is a Suitcase College or not, does smaller universities mean the students have smaller dreams, why Winthrop isn’t ready for football, the benefits of staying on campus rather than in the off campus housing, how the cafeteria food is one of the biggest complaints on campus, what effect the beautification process has on potential and current students, and how the Student-Media are everywhere yet students still don’t know about them.
