Janie Carroll Rice [1883-1977] was a 1903 graduate of Winthrop and an instructor at the Winthrop Training School from 1924 through 1948.
Scope and Content Note
The Janie Rice Papers consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, letters of appreciation, and certificates of awards concerning her career as a teacher at Winthrop Training School, her work with the Baptist Church in Chester, SC and her establishment of a Janie Carroll Rice scholarship at Winthrop.
