Description
When it comes to discussions about conservation and the accessibility of water children are often not included in the discussions. The purpose of my study is to find what is being currently done in the classroom to include children in the discussion about issues such as: sanitation, the water supply in the U.S and abroad, and the lack of access to clean drink around the globe. This will be conducted by sending online surveys to various elementary, middle and high school teachers at private, public and charter schools. In addition to the online surveys, an analysis and review of children and adolescent literature, and lesson plans will be conducted to provide options for teachers to utilize in their classrooms. The projected result should provide teachers with options that they can incorporate into their classroom which aligns with standards and can be adapted to help students practice for standardized testing while encouraging students to become problem solvers for the current issues about water.
