Abstract
This paper aims to consociate my endeavors as an openly gay, African American go-go dancer to the routine struggles of different minority groups. Through close-up encounters and distant observations, I will take note of patron behavior and dialogue in regards to intersectionality in a dated notebook. Ultimately, this paper is an ethnographic exploration of the hypersexualized go-go space in club settings and an attempt to bridge my own experiences and issues to others outside of my own racial, sexual, and gendered space. While heavily documenting encounters amongst patrons, amongst co-workers, and with myself, I will align an auto-ethnography to those enduring personal struggles. This paper will attempt to interrelate my own personal experiences to This Bridge Called My Back: Writings By Radical Women of Color and to examine intersectionality in the new millennium.
