Abstract

The vulnerable position that is to be fat or asexual is somewhat understandable with current knowledge of the economic, medical, and political climates toward fat bodies and asexuality by such fields and institutions. When occupying both of these spaces, one faces particular scrutiny and shame toward their bodily desires and presentations. When you carry both of these identities into the space that is the mainstream Sex Positive movement, such scrutiny and shame collide in ways that have ramifications for mental, physical, sexual, and social health for anyone whom is a fat ace person. This paper will seek to examine how the flaws inside the mainstream sex positive community as portrayed by popular capitalist media have put unbearable strain upon persons who are both fat and asexually identified in any way.
