Event Title
When Super Heroes Join Forces Big Things Happen!
Location
DiGiorgio Campus Center 222
Description
This presentation will include information on how Accessibility Services join forces with Victim Services to ensure that students that are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, stalking or crimes of bias get the support that they are entitled to through Title IX. Specifically, the presentation will describe how those students may be affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or other mental health disorders, and how this diagnosis meets criteria for services through Accessibility Services. By joining "super forces" and working together, we increase retention and graduation rates, but most importantly, we help students be successful!
Goals: 1. Define/recognize symptoms of sexual assault and other forms of gender violence 2. Define/recognize symptoms associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder 3. Brief Review of Title IX and why it matters. 4. Define why joining forces is good for students.
