Presenter Bio
Dr. Melissa Carsten, Professor of Management
Carsten is a professor of management with an emphasis in organizational behavior and human resource management at Winthrop University. She brings more than 15 years of consulting experience in leadership development, human resources selection and performance management systems, and compensation and benefits for public and private organizations. Her research has appeared in “The Leadership Quarterly,” “Organizational Dynamics,” “Money Magazine,” and many more.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in industrial organization psychology, and a Ph.D. in organizational psychology. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Gallup Leadership Institute at the University of Nebraska, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Sydney in Australia.
