Description
In 1900, Winthrop began it's Kindergarten program. Classes were originanlly held in Tillman Hall where students could get practical experience with teaching kindergartners. Kindergarten classes moved to the Winthrop Training School when it was built for the 1913-1914 academic year and continued at Winthrop until it was fazed out in 1968.
This photograph is of kindergarten children playing on Winthrop's front campus around 1910.
