Abstract

This interview was recorded with Vera Taylor Johnston (1913-1988) regarding her experiences working in a local mill, life on the farm, and her move to the city. She discusses family life, work attitudes, and experiences growing up in the area.

This interview was conducted by Winthrop graduate student, Fred E. Hembree (1952-2010) and was part of a series of three interview conducted about family life and mill workers in 20^th century Rock Hill, SC. The other interviewees in this series are Margaret Johnston Corder (1929-2009) and Minnie E. Brown Hembree (1893-1984)
