This collection consists of two copies of a booklet titled William Gilmore Simms: A Radio Address Over WBT, Charlotte, N.C., March 30, 1934, in the Series of the South Carolina Economic Association, Being Fifty-ninth Consecutive Weekly Broadcast in Educational Series by Dr. Hampton M. Jarrell of Winthrop College. William Gilmore Simms (April 17, 1806-June 11, 1870) was a poet, novelist and historian from the American South. Hampton McNeely Jarrell (1904-1980) was a professor of English at Winthrop College from 1932-1969.
