This collection consists of an essay titled, An Essay On The Agricultural Capabilities Of South Carolina And The Best Means Of Developing An Improving Them, Read Before the State Agricultural Society of South Carolina, in November, 1847, And September, 1848, by Whitemarsh Benjamin Seabrook (1793-1855). Whitemarsh B. Seabrook was the 63rd Governor of South Carolina (1848-1850) and was President of the State Agricultural Society. The Essay offers a detailed account of Agriculture in South Carolina, historical trends, and how best to improve output.
