Historical Note
Nancy McDuffie Lane Stuart [1914-1988] graduated from Winthrop in 1935 with a degree in Latin and History. She served in the Women's Army Corps (WACs) during World War II. Stuart graduated with a law degree (L.L.B) from the University of South Carolina in 1952. She was married to George E. Stuart. In addition to Family Anecdotes, Stuart was also the author of "Enigma Tales", and "Poetry with Apologies to All Poetry Lovers".
Scope and Content Note
Family Anecdotes, Amusing and Amazing relates family history, stories, and tales of the Montgomery Family. Also included is brief genealogical information pertaining to the Montgomery, Lane, and Gaddey families; Dillon County SC information; and Marion County SC information. Please see the attached Table of Contents.
