Thomas Dryden Spratt [1804-1884] was a resident of Fort Mill, SC.

Scope and Content Note

Thomas Dryden Spratt's Recollections of His Family is a typescript account of the Spratt Family of York County, South Carolina from the settlement of Thomas Spratt to Mecklenburg County in 1730 from County Down, Ireland through 1875. There are addenda added to the recollections by Zack Spratt that include lineage, Spratt Cemetery list, transcriptions of legal documents, a drawing of puncheons, and a recipe for Johnny (Journey) Cake. The volume also includes "Descendants of Thomas "Kanawha" Spratt" compiled by A. W. Cockrell, Jr. in 1908 and "History of the Old Indian Fort at Fort Mill, S.C." written by Zack Spratt originally published in 1920 and reprinted in 1962.
