Historical Note
William Bird emigrated from England to Pennsylvania in the early 1700s. Mark Bird and his family migrated to North Carolina in 1788. He bought land in Rutherford County, North Carolina and York District, South Carolina in 1791.
Scope and Content Note
The Ironmasters Kin: The Genealogy of William and Mark Bird, 1621-1985 chronicles the family history of the family from Pennsylvania to their arrival in North Carolina in 1788 and though the decades to 1985. Other family names include Hardin, McSwain, Read, Roberts, Ross, and others. Please see the attached Index.
