Historical Note
The Wilford (Williford) family was established in Colonial Virginia by the second son of Sir Thomas and Lady Margaret Wilford, Captain Thomas Wilford. By 1650, he had settled in what became Northumberland County.

Williford and Allied Families by William Bailey Williford tells the history of the Williford family.
