The Guignard family of South Carolina was established by Gabriel Guignard who came to the province from France before 1737.
Scope and Content Note
Planters and Business Men: The Guignard Family of South Carolina by Arney R. Childs relates the history of the family from 1795 to 1930 through portions of the three thousand items in the Guignard Family Papers located in the South Caroliniana Library at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. The book includes photographs, transcriptions of letters, notes, legal, financial and other documents, and an index. Please see the attached Table of Contents and Index.
