Scope and Content Note
The collection contains correspondence, reports, and Board of Director’s minutes relating to the Children's Attention Home of Rock Hill, South Carolina which was established in 1970 “to provide a temporary care shelter in which a child can experience a loving and secure family life until the child’s own home conditions are corrected or a permanent home can be found.” The idea of a Children’s Attention Home grew from a concern by the Rock Hill Ministerial Association that abused, neglected, abandoned, and homeless children did not have a place to go and that there was a significant lack of foster homes.
