Historical Note
The Associated Country Women of the World was founded in 1929 and their headquarters are based in London. "The members of ACWW, who live in rural and urban areas and who represent many races, nationalities and creeds, believe that peace and progress can best be advanced by friendship and understanding through communication and working together to improve the quality of life for all people through: relief of poverty; relief of sickness and the protection and preservation of health; advancement of education."
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of records from the Associated Country Women of the World. Included in the collection is a financial report for the organization dated June 30, 1990, an ACWW Board Report titled “Our World” dated July 21, 1990, and a piece of correspondence (September 4, 1990) from Shirley Woody, ACWW Area President concerning the ACWW Council Meeting in England on July 23-25, 1990.
