Phillip Lader (1946- ) was Winthrop's seventh president from 1983 through 1985 and was the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James's (1997–2001).
Scope and Content Note
President of Winthrop College (1983-1985). The Phil Lader Papers consists of letters and newspaper clippings pertaining to Lader’s political and business activities prior to his becoming Winthrop president. Includes letters from Strom Thurmond, Alexander Haig, and other prominent Americans.
