Historical Note
The Haile Gold Mine was founded in 1827 and is located in Lancaster County 3 ½ miles northeast of Kershaw. See also the attached article above by Louise Pettus.
Scope and Content Note
The Haile Gold Mine Records consist of a report by the Bureau of the U.S. Department of the Interior describing the history and operation of the gold mine and weekly time and payroll records. The records are entirely photocopies. The Haile Gold Mine was founded in 1827 and is located in Lancaster County 3 ½ miles northeast of Kershaw.
Provenance
The Haile Gold Mine Records were given to the Archives by Mr. John P. Faulkenberry via Miss Martha Mungo on April 19, 1978.
