Historical Note
The South Carolina Rose Society, organized in 1949, is one of the organizations comprising the American Rose Society. It is an educational organization dedicated to the enjoyment, enhancement, and promotion of the rose.
Scope and Content Note
The South Carolina Rose Society Records consist of bulletins of the South Carolina Rose Society listing members, officers, and information relating to the care of roses. Dates of materials range from 1954 to1963. The South Carolina Rose Society was organized in 1949 and was affiliated with the American Rose Society to further interest in roses in South Carolina.
Provenance
The South Carolina Rose Society Records were given to the Dacus Library by Dr. Elizabeth Friench Johnson and transferred to the Archives on March 23, 1978.
