Scope and Content Note
The Mai Davidson Ramsey Letter consists of a photocopied letter written in 1940 as a birthday greeting from Mai Davidson Ramsey (1883-1960) to her sister, Ora, describing the day of Ora’s birth on November 20, 1895, and her mother’s near death in childbirth. The letter also contains a good description of family life on a west Tennessee farm at the time.
