Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a photograph of the old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church dating circa 1880s The Waxhaw Presbyterian Church was founded about 1755 and it was the first Presbyterian church founded in the state of South Carolina. It’s cemetery contains many famous people such as the Revolutionary War Generals Davie and Pickens. It is also known that the seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, was baptized in this church.
