Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of a 1922 panoramic print of Emmett Scott School during summer school session. The image depicts the faculty, staff, and students during the Summer School session in 1922. Emmett Scott opened in 1920 as the first public school for blacks in Rock Hill, SC. The school operated as a segregated educational institution from 1920 until Rock Hill Schools were fully desegregated in 1970.
