Scope and Content Note
The Eva Rogers Adkins Papers consist of materials related to the professional career of Eva Rogers Adkins and contains letters, memorabilia, song sheets, speeches, and printed material relative to hospital housekeeping work. Also newspapers from World War I and World War II and clippings relative to Mrs. Adkins’ work at Cherokee County Memorial Hospital and Chester County Hospital, as well as women’s club work. The collection is of narrow scope. It includes reference material used by Mrs. Adkins as Executive Housekeeper at the Cherokee County Memorial Hospital, Gaffney, South Carolina. Subjects include human relations, housekeeping staff training programs, professional bulletins, routine cleaning instructions, and Federal Government Labor Department pamphlets, hospital booklets, and news letters relating to supervisors.
Provenance
The Eva Rogers Adkins Papers were received by the Winthrop University Archives on July 19, 1982. The collection was deposited by Herman G. Adkins, husband of the late Mrs. Adkins.
