Scope and Content Note

The South Carolina Political Science Association Records consist of records produced by the organization. The South Carolina Political Science Association was founded in 1967 “to encourage understanding and to improve instruction in areas of Political Science through discussion and research. A further purpose shall be that of improving relations among members of the faculties of South Carolina universities, colleges, and secondary schools, and public officials.” The collection consists of constitutions and bylaws, correspondence, minutes, financial records, memoranda, research papers, brochures, membership lists, profile sheets of the South Carolina Party Activists Bill, newspaper clippings (Xeroxed), and case studies.

Provenance

The records of the South Carolina Political Science Association (SCPSA) were donated to the Winthrop Archives on March 28, 1983 by Mrs. Mary Jeanne Byrd.
