Scope and Content Note
The papers originally belonged to G. Donald Harrison (1889-1956), a notable organ designer and president of the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company. G. Donald Harrison designed and built the D.B. Johnson Memorial Organ in Byrnes Auditorium in 1955. The collection includes photos, correspondence, journal articles, news clippings, an opus list of Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company, programs, pamphlets, and birth certificates. The majority of these are original copies. The collection also includes a set of vinyl records, two bound volumes, two DVDs, and a WWI dog tag.
Provenance
The G. Donald Harrison Papers Collection was given to the Louise Pettus Special Collection and Archives on December 1, 2015 by Mrs. Frances Stroscio, granddaughter of G. Donald Harrison.
