Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of genealogical notes relating to various families, personal correspondence, deeds, records relating to church histories, records relating to Bennettsville, S.C., and newspaper clippings. Included also is a book entitled The Dwelling Houses of Charleston, South Carolina. The genealogical material relates mainly to the Stevenson and McLelland (or McClelland) families. There is also material relating to other families connected with the Stevenson and McLelland families. Much of the material is handwritten notes on the various families. A listing of family names is listed in the Appendix I at the end of the Finding Aid.
