Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of the minutes from eleven annual conventions of the South Carolina Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and of four national annual conventions, and are separated accordingly. The United Daughters of the Confederacy South Carolina Division was organized in the Senate Chamber of the State House in Columbia, SC on May 28, 1896. The organization is a “Southern preservation heritage organization made up of the direct and collateral female descendants of the soldiers, sailors, and statesmen of the Confederate States of America (1861-1865) or those whom gave Material Aid to the Cause.”[1]
