Historical Note

The Catawba Regional Planning Council was established in 1971 is now known as the Catawba Regional Council of Governments (COG). The organization is an association of South Carolina local governments in Chester, Lancaster, Union, and York counties. “The council assists local governments and other agencies with various programs and helps to locate and secure funds for project developments. A board of local elected government officials and private citizens appointed by their county councils directs CRPC’s activities. Citizen advisory committees provide vital ideas and local perspectives on area issues to the Council Board and Staff.”

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of records produced by the Catawba Regional Planning Council (CRPC) and includes reports, newsletters, brochure, correspondence and photographs.
