This collection consists of an account ledger for the Kinard-Wicker Company located in Newberry County, SC. The company was a mercantile or general store with a possible connection to former Winthrop President, James Pinckney Kinard (1864-1951) and/or his wife Lee Wicker Kinard (1871-1962). Signatures found in the ledger include: Mathias Wicker; J. A. Kibler (possibly John Adam Kibler); Kibler and Wicker; and Wicker and Cameron;This ledger contains the accounts of many local customers and what they purchased. This ledger is a good source for anyone conducting genealogical research and attempting to locate relatives that lived in Newberry County during the 1857-1861 time frame of this ledger.
