Historical Note

The Roddey family of York County, S.C. have been in the area since the 18th century. "Squire" (John) Roddey was a surveyor and laid out the city of Rock Hill.

Scope and Content Note

Remembrance is a compilation of stories, memories, photographs, letters, genealogy, and other material collected for the Roddey - Dunlap - Jones - Cumming - Frith Family Reunion held on June 6, 1998. The people gathered were descended from William Joseph Roddey (Papa Joe) [1861-1945] and Mary Perry Dunlap Roddey (Mama Joe) [1866-1967]. Please see the attached Table of Contents.
