Project-based learning is an exciting educational tool, because it motivates students, can increase academic achievement for all students, will accommodate a wide range of academic standards, and authentically teaches 21st Century Skills. Utilizing project-based learning in the classroom is not, however without its challenges. In this presentation participants will learn how to develop and implement curriculum that will overcome the seven most common project-based learning challenges.
Participant objectives: Participants will learn methods for overcoming the seven most common challenges faced by teachers when developing and implements project-based learning: misperceptions, planning, developing a guiding question, fostering critical thinking, facilitating student collaboration, monitoring student progress, and assessment.
