Abstract
Institutions increasingly offer workshops and other programs to encourage instructors to create classroom environments that do not marginalize students of diverse backgrounds. Programs address design of course curricula, facilitation of respectful discussions on sensitive topics, and management of classroom situations that result from student-generated discrimination. This brief profiles the efforts of eight universities to improve classroom inclusion through programming for faculty members.
