The Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy is a community of scholars who prepare teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners by promoting high academic standards, cultivating reflective practice, and fostering engaged citizenship. Highly qualified faculty enable the department to offer initial and advanced study in the areas of assessment, early childhood education, educational psychology, elementary education, literacy, and social foundations of education, while a robust roster of student organizations, including the National Alliance of Black Student Educators, Palmetto Student Teachers Association, and Kappa Delta Pi, among others, provide exciting opportunities for involvement in professional activities.
