The Augustus Franks Correspondence consists of typed script copy of correspondence of Augustus Franks. Franks was a Bavarian immigrant who served in the Confederate Army and the letters pertain to his service in the 7th Infantry Texas Co. D and contain descriptions of living conditions, battles, hospitals, music, Union prisons and other aspects of a soldiers life.
Provenance
The Augustus Franks Correspondence was given to the Archives by Father Gabriel Franks, Queen of Angels Church on February 2, 1982.
